As an Environmental Services Assistant, you will help create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. This role is a great steppingstone to other careers in Environmental Services and various departments within Cleveland Clinic.</p> <p>A caregiver in this role works evenings from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holiday requirements.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Clean patient rooms, utility rooms, nourishment rooms, conference rooms, offices, corridors, stairways, locker rooms and restrooms.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean toilets, urinals, sinks and lockers.</p> </li><li> <p>Replenish supplies.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect trash and needles and dispose of them in an appropriate manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Dust ceilings, ceiling vents, TVs, light fixtures, doors, walls, wall hangings and flat surfaces.</p> </li><li> <p>Wash or spot clean walls, cabinets, elevators, counters, desks and windows.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean floors, carpets, floods and body fluids.</p> </li><li> <p>Use and maintain equipment, such as vacuums, buffers, cleaning carts, buckets, wringers, sweeping tools and mops.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean and disinfect beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, IV poles and other items in patient rooms.</p> </li><li> <p>Strip and make beds.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport and move furniture and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Report malfunctioning equipment, unsafe conditions and broken items.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Interest in housekeeping work demonstrated by previous experience or ability to learn</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow written and oral instructions, use care and attention when using equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Insurable under the hospital plan to be permitted to drive a company vehicle</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Hospital, cleaning and/or factory experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to 10 pounds (lbs.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to move/transport items weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to inspect equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products</p> </li><li> <p>May come into contact with communicable diseases and/or body fluids</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
