<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. The teacher will plan, implement, and assess instructional activities in accordance with state standards, district curricula, and individual student needs.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with state standards and district goals. </li><li>Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. </li><li>Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials to engage all learners. </li><li>Maintain accurate and complete student records, including assessments, attendance, and grades. </li><li>Manage classroom behavior using appropriate techniques in accordance with district policy. </li><li>Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress and behavior. </li><li>Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams to plan instruction and share resources. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners. </li><li>Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and colleagues. </li><li>Participate in professional development and ongoing training opportunities. </li><li>Supervise students in the classroom, during transitions, recess, and other school activities as needed. </li><li>Integrate technology to enhance instruction and learning. </li><li>Follow and enforce school rules, policies, and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field. </li><li>Licensure: Valid Indiana State Teaching License (K-6 or appropriate for grade level assigned). </li><li>Experience: Prior classroom teaching experience preferred but not required. </li><li>Skills: </li><li>Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. </li><li>Knowledge of child development and effective teaching practices. </li><li>Familiarity with classroom technology tools and platforms. </li><li>Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Work is primarily performed in a classroom setting. </li><li>May require standing, walking, and lifting classroom materials. </li><li>Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities for school events or parent-teacher conferences. </li></ul>
