<p>Job Summary/Objective:</p> <p>The Education and Entertainment Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing educational and entertainment programs for residents, enhancing their overall well-being and engagement. This role involves curating a diverse schedule of lectures, workshops, performances, and activities that promote lifelong learning, social interaction, and enjoyment.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and coordinate educational and entertainment programs, including lectures, workshops, classes, movie nights, and live performances, that cater to a range of interests and abilities. </li><li>Collaborate with residents to gather feedback and adjust programs based on their preferences and participation. </li><li>Oversee event setup, ensuring audio-visual needs and seating arrangements are prepared for an optimal experience. </li><li>Coordinate with vendors, instructors, and performers to schedule and ensure smooth event execution. </li><li>Promote upcoming events through internal newsletters, bulletin boards, email, and social media to maximize resident engagement. </li><li>Design and distribute promotional materials that effectively communicate event details and generate excitement among residents. </li><li>Track and manage the program budget, seeking cost-effective options and documenting expenses for monthly reporting. </li><li>Work with the Director to develop annual programming budgets based on anticipated needs. </li><li>Interact with residents to ensure they feel welcomed and supported in attending programs. </li><li>Gather feedback post-event to assess satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement. </li><li>Stay informed about trends in senior recreation and wellness programming, continually refining program offerings. </li><li>Attend industry seminars and workshops as needed to enhance job skills and creativity in programming. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills to engage residents and work collaboratively. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use basic design software (e.g., Canva, Publisher) for promotional materials. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Event Management, or a related field (Preferred). </li><li>At least two years of experience in event planning, programming, or senior recreation (Required). </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. </li><li>Ability to perform light setup and breakdown for events. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
