<p>Position Overview</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Health Outcomes Supervisor, provides training and education to foster, adoptive, biological parents and caregivers of special and exceptional needs children ages 0-21 years.</p> <p>Summary of Job Duties</p> <p>Provides training and education to foster, adoptive, biological parents and caregivers of special and exceptional needs children ages 0-21 years. This includes, but is not limited to home visits, health and developmental summary, and teaching in relation to specific health needs of newborns and children in the Agency custody or involved with the Agency. Provides and writes appropriate health histories and summaries for adoptions. Ability to use</p> <p>Provides technical assistance, direction, consultation and Case Review (CR) to caseworkers, foster parents, caregivers and health care providers regarding children, specific health problems, child safety, wellness practices, prevention of infectious diseases, caring for children with chronic health conditions, child growth and development, oral health, maternal health, and access to services and resources. Requests reports from doctors, dentists, specialists and other providers. Provides pre-natal information</p> <p>Assists staff in the decision-making process as it relates to medical and health issues of children in care. Provides nursing consultation to staff on alleged child abuse and neglect investigations.</p> <p>Acts as liaison between Agency, health care facilities, private practitioners, caregivers, and foster parents to facilitate quality healthcare for children. Trouble shoots problems, communicates health history and other related information, and consults with other health professionals in order to plan treatment. Assists placement coordinators in finding appropriate placements for children coming into care or being moved to another placement.</p> <p>Additional duties include, but are not limited to, speaking to community groups, participating on community committees, speaking to professional organizations, and participating in school health fairs. Office coverage includes pre-placement screenings, assessment of children in visitation when medical concerns arise, and permission to treat.</p> <p>Maintains competency through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contact with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending required training.</p> <p>(Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned)</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications and Requirements</p> <p>Must be a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field. Must have a valid Ohio Nursing license, as issued by Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723.03 of the Revised Code. Must have and maintain first aid and CPR certification. Pediatric nursing experience either in a hospital, doctor's office or as a Public Health Nurse preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of and/or work experience in child abuse and neglect; must be proficient in software applications used by department; OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements excluding mandated licensure.</p> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Driving Requirements:</p> <p>Must have a valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance and an acceptable driving record, in accordance with current Agency Policy. Use of personal vehicle for job related travel is required. .</p> <p>Training and Development:</p> <p>Annual training is required to maintain RN licensure in addition to mandatory Agency training requirements.</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>Must have strength and ability to lift young children; able to sit for extended periods of time; ability to stand, walk and drive; able to move throughout all buildings, floors, grounds, facilities and community homes, including navigation of stairs and rough terrain at centers and community homes; manual dexterity including finger movements; eye-hand coordination.</p> <p>Probationary Period:</p> <p>180 days</p>
