Experience in a government contracting environment is strongly preferred. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred.</p> <p>Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</p> <p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Advanced Program Finance Specilaist. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.</p> <p>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure timely and accurate charges to contracts/programs based on contractual terms and conditions. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of expenditures, direct preparation of expenditure projections, and submit timely requests for additional funding. </li><li>Follow ASC 606 and GDMS processes and procedures in developing estimates and preparing booking rates. </li><li>Incorporate contractual changes into control systems to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule </li></ul> <p>baselines.</p> <ul> <li>Initiate, review, and approve invoices, respond to customer invoice inquiries, and resolve invoicing issues. </li><li>Monitor and ensure ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and Earnings Rate Reviews compliance. </li><li>Provide support for proposal activity, including modeling potential financial results and developing proposal </li></ul> <p>estimate rationale.</p> <ul> <li>Set up cost control systems, monitor, and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost </li></ul> <p>schedule control systems.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with program management to manage financial aspects, optimizing program cash flow and </li></ul> <p>profitability.</p> <ul> <li>Perform month-end close activities for assigned programs/business. </li><li>Analyze and present financial status of assigned programs, including orders, funding, sales, profit, and cash </li></ul> <p>flow actuals and projections to program management.</p> <ul> <li>Manage and monitor accounts receivable and cash contributions, ensuring timely preparation of billing and </li></ul> <p>collection of cash.</p> <ul> <li>Present financial status of programs to customers at significant customer program reviews. </li><li>Analyze financial performance to identify and report on risk and funding issues. </li><li>Perform financial planning functions, including overhead budgets, capital budgeting, forecasting, financial </li></ul> <p>reporting, performance measurement, audit support, and ad hoc analysis.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced analytical capabilities to quickly assess new information and provide highly complex financial analysis for senior management </li><li>Highly proficient knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, Rates and Compliance, and Cost Proposal functions </li><li>Demonstrated effective and clear communication and presentation skills </li><li>Highly proficient knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies - Hyperion, Essbase, Oracle, Etc. </li><li>Demonstrated courage to confront reality, challenge opposing positions and influence others </li><li>Ability to develop and sustain professional working relationships </li><li>Highly proficient knowledge of Truth In Negotiations Act, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulation, General Dynamics policies and procedures, government accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and Revenue Recognition ASC 606 </li><li>Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, Essbase, EPM cloud not required but highly recommended </li></ul> <p>Our Commitment to You:</p> <ul> <li>An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development. </li><li>Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nations security </li><li>Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule) </li><li>Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and more </li><li>See more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefits </li></ul> <p>Workplace Options:</p> <p>This position is on-site in Manassas, VA and we are not offering a relocation package at this time.</p> <p>#LI-Hybrid</p> <p>Salary Note</p> <p>This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
