<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Provides a total therapeutic recreation program to meet both group and individual needs. To provide therapeutic recreational activities through which patients can maximize their social/interpersonal, and physical capabilities. Utilizes therapeutic recreation activities and community resources to help facilitate improvement of an individuals leisure lifestyle.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Upholds Kaiser Permanentes Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws. </li><li>Plans, organizes, conducts and improves a wide range of group and individual therapeutic activities (leisure education, wellness groups, and social events). </li><li>Continuously reviews and evaluates ongoing recreation groups and programs/services to meet the needs of patient populations. </li><li>Performs other related duties as required. </li><li>Assess, delivers and evaluates individual and group needs for therapeutic recreational activity. </li><li>Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary teaching and treatment team. </li><li>Coordinates recreation therapy objectives for individual patients with that of the total treatment plan. </li><li>Weekly reevaluates and maintains records on patient treatment/progress. </li><li>Provides individual counseling, education and teaching to assist patients in planning their use of leisure time in the community. </li><li>Evaluates purchases and maintains equipment and supplies. </li><li>Helps coordinate and maintain the usage of the physical space, facilities, and equipment. </li><li>May train and supervise clinical education/practice of recreation therapy students and other students in allied health field. </li><li>Provides in-service education in the field of Therapeutic Recreation to other members of the health care staff, as needed. </li><li>Maintains and improves professional development/expertise through professional journals, workshops, conferences and other related educational opportunities. </li><li>Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed. </li></ul>
