<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Elementary School Teaching/Title I Math Specialist</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/2/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Hamtramck Public Schools</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Hamtramck Public Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate </li><li>Highly Qualified in Mathematics </li><li>Excellent verbal and written skills </li><li>Communicates well with students, staff, parents, and administration </li><li>Knowledge of individual student learning styles, co teaching and classroom management skills </li><li>Willing to work a flexible schedule </li><li>Knowledge of Everyday Mathematics and Connected Mathematics </li><li>Must be willing to participate in on-going professional development </li><li>Demonstrates competence in administering, interpreting, and utilizing data from individual student assessments in order to improve instruction and improve student achievement </li><li>Understand how to develop an intellectual learning community in the classroom </li><li>Knowledge of inquiry based instruction </li><li>Familiar with the MTSS process and Tiered Instruction. </li><li>Demonstrated teaching skills. </li><li>Understanding of current instructional technology and educational software. </li><li>Ability to work with students with various academic needs. </li><li>Knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards (MAS) and State and District Math assessments. </li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>JOB DUTIES are (but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Recommend appropriate materials </li><li>Collaborate with teachers in the diagnosis of students' individual learning needs </li><li>Participate in parent/teacher conferences </li><li>Integrate technology into lesson design and instructional delivery system </li><li>Coordinate and implement extended day learning opportunities </li><li>Adhere to other duties and activities as assigned by supervising administrators </li><li>Knowledge of differentiated instruction and ability to design differentiated lessons for students </li><li>Work collaboratively with the school instructional team to develop a comprehensive program for individual students including such activities as individualized instructional plans, small group, and whole group instruction </li><li>Provide assistance and support to students in the MTSS process </li><li>Work with individual students and student groups to provide effective math interventions to improve student performance. </li><li>Collaborate with MTSS Math Specialist and classroom teachers in the developing and implementing of effective intervention programs. </li><li>Assist classroom teacher and MTSS Math Specialist in the delivery of district-wide instructional initiatives. </li><li>Use a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support math. </li><li>Collect data and progress monitor students in intervention groups. </li><li>Participate in data meetings. </li></ul> <p>WORKING LENGTH: As Per the HFT contract</p> <p>OTHER:</p> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job.
