<p>Description</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Organizes and oversees the Food Service Department in conjunction with the Patient Service Manager and Food Service Director and all related activities at the assigned location within the Nuvance System. This will include any one or more of the following: Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, Nuvance Material Management Warehouse, The Fishkill Medical Mall, all Nuvance locations and other community-based locations.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ensures that day-to-day operations of the Food Services Department is fulfilled for all areas including but not limited to patient meal service, catering service, cafeteria operation and all duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Assures compliance, at all times, with regulatory agencies such as New York State Department of Health, County Department of Health, JCAHO, DEC and CMS and assures the Food Service Department environment is maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans daily department work assignments and leads to ensure adequate coverage for department activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees patient meal delivery to assure that meals are served according to department schedule. Monitors food temperatures and plate presentation to assure that standards are being met.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible to ensure retail outlets utilize proper food handling, infection control, and sanitation practices, and the appearance of service and dining areas are clean and organized.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates any employee performance or behavior concerns to a supervisor in a timely manner for direction. Implements and communicates Human Resources policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Assists with orientation, training and education of employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to department budget according to established procedures and submits all inputs by date due. Coordinates operations for the Food Services Departments within the approved budget guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment as appropriate to meet department demands as demonstrated by department standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with maintaining consistent and clear communication within the department to ensure that information is shared for effective operations and to promote positive employee relations. Seeks clarification, listens and conveys information clearly, in written and verbal forms.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains and displays current knowledge of developments by attending seminars, reviewing journals and other appropriate activity. Attends and participates in all appropriate educational workshops as scheduled by Nuvance.</p> </li><li> <p>Exemplifies excellent customer relations in interactions with patients, visitors, doctors, employees, and services in a positive role model through initiative, involvement and availability.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and model Nuvance Health Values</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as required</p> </li></ol> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Serve Safe Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Some occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
