<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Accepting Applications for Academic Year 2025-2026</p> <p>Adjunct faculty in the architectural technology department play a major role in instruction, working with the full-time faculty to deliver architectural and construction technology instruction to students. Using department course outcomes, and recommendations from the dean's office and the architectural technology department chair, adjunct faculty develop and deliver course content using high quality pedagogical techniques to ensure maximum student success and learning.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare course syllabi that meet all contractual requirements. </li><li>Teach CAD, Revit, 3D Modeling and emerging software related to creating architectural drawings. </li><li>Teach entry level architectural courses and architectural rendering and model-making. </li><li>Schedule classes to meet for the allotted time on every scheduled meeting day during the semester. </li><li>Employ effective instructional strategies that promote student learning. </li><li>Use appropriate assessment tools to accurately measure student understanding. </li><li>Monitor email communications from students and the college and respond in a timely manner. </li><li>Provide availability outside of class to meet with and assist students. </li><li>Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports, student grievance responses and other administrative documentation. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage a level of flexibility that holds students accountable and recognizes the challenging work/school/life balance lead by many students at Massasoit. </li><li>Ensure appropriate training in laboratory safety for laboratory classes. </li><li>Follow divisional policies to maintain security of laboratory spaces, chemicals, technology, and equipment. </li><li>Work collaboratively with divisional staff. </li><li>Provide feedback on student progress to advisement and counseling. </li><li>Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions. </li></ul> <p>THIS POOL IS VALID THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026. Positions may consist of day, night, or weekend courses, and maybe in Brockton, Canton, Middleborough, or any other instructional site.</p> <p>Please note: Positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a design related field. </li><li>Full-time work experience in architectural design and practice. </li><li>Professional licensing and certifications in Massachusetts related to architecture and/or building technology. </li><li>Teaching experience in higher education and/or adult education within the disciplines of architecture, drafting, construction, or engineering; </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD/Autodesk, and CNC software, and laser cutter methods of fabrication; </li><li>Comfortable learning new technology and programs. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with and understanding of the community college environment </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively </li><li>Experience teaching CAD, Revit, 3D Modeling and emerging software related to creating architectural drawings. </li><li>Capable of maintaining academic standards with empathy and honesty </li><li>Knowledge of and experience using effective pedagogical strategies </li><li>Experience and training in online instruction </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Position Status: MCCC/MTA bargaining unit position; Adjunct Faculty are part-time instructors hired per semester on an as-needed basis</p> <p>Supervisor: Dean of STEM</p> <p>Semester: Academic Year Fall 2025 and Spring 2026</p> <p>Hours: Variable. Classes Typically meet 3-5 hours per week. Positions may consist of day, night, or weekend courses</p> <p>Salary: $1,397.00 per credit, with additional compensation for courses with a laboratory component consistent with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. *If hired for the position mid-semester, the salary will be pro-rated based on the number of weeks left in the semester.</p> <p>Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.</p> <p>Deadline to Apply: June 30, 2026.</p> <p>Please note: Positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment.
