<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Assistant Principal supports the School Principal in providing instructional leadership, managing school operations, and promoting a safe, positive, and student-centered learning environment. The Assistant Principal collaborates with staff, students, families, and community partners to support student achievement, implement district initiatives, and ensure effective school operations.</p> <p>Reports To: School Principal</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: Assists the School Principal in supervising and supporting certified and classified school staff.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Instructional Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Support the Principal in providing instructional leadership and oversight of the school's academic programs. </li><li>Assist in implementing district curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment systems. </li><li>Use student performance data to support school improvement efforts and instructional decision-making. </li><li>Promote high expectations for teaching and learning across all classrooms. </li><li>Support collaborative planning and professional learning communities focused on student achievement. </li></ul> <p>School Climate and Culture</p> <ul> <li>Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered school environment. </li><li>Support the implementation of schoolwide expectations for student behavior and engagement. </li><li>Promote practices that support equity, cultural responsiveness, and strong relationships within the school community. </li></ul> <p>Staff Supervision and Development</p> <ul> <li>Assist in supervising, coaching, and evaluating certified and classified staff in accordance with district policies and evaluation systems. </li><li>Support professional development initiatives designed to improve instructional practice and staff effectiveness. </li><li>Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of school staff. </li><li>Provide ongoing feedback and support to staff to strengthen instructional and professional practices. </li></ul> <p>Student Support and Discipline</p> <ul> <li>Support the implementation of student discipline procedures in a fair, consistent, and restorative manner. </li><li>Address student behavioral concerns and work collaboratively with staff and families to support student success. </li><li>Respond to student crises, safety concerns, and behavioral incidents as needed. </li><li>Assist in maintaining accurate documentation related to student discipline and support services. </li></ul> <p>School Operations and Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Assist in implementing district policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Support coordination of school programs, schedules, and daily operations. </li><li>Assist with the preparation of reports, correspondence, and required documentation. </li><li>Support implementation of safety procedures and emergency preparedness plans, including drills and crisis response protocols. </li><li>Assume administrative responsibility for the school in the absence of the Principal. </li></ul> <p>Family and Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community partners. </li><li>Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to support student learning and well-being. </li><li>Serve as a professional representative of the school and district within the community. </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the school and district. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Ability to analyze data and use information to guide decision-making. </li><li>Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and families. </li><li>Commitment to serving diverse student populations and supporting equitable educational opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Education required. </li><li>Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field preferred. </li><li>Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate required. </li><li>Missouri Principal Certification (or eligibility) preferred or required based on district requirements. </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience required. </li><li>Bilingual ability (English required; Spanish preferred) is desirable. </li></ul> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
