<p>About this role:</p> <p>The Paraprofessional will help to close the achievement gap by working with small groups, individuals, and the whole class to ensure that students are receiving appropriate support and necessary accommodations. This individual will report to the Principal overall and the Classroom Teacher on a daily basis. The Paraprofessional will work closely with the Grade Level Team, Special Education Staff Members, and the School Leadership Team.</p> <p>As a paraprofessional, you may be assigned to one or more of the following roles:</p> <p>1:1 Paraprofessional: Providing support and accommodations to one assigned student</p> <p>Classroom Paraprofessional: Providing support and accommodations to an assigned classroom of students</p> <p>Crisis Aide: Providing support and accommodations to students who are experiencing behavioral or emotional issues that interfere with their ability to stay on task and participate in classroom activities.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Teach, reinforce, and remediate academic content with individual students, small groups of students, and whole class of students;</p> <p>Provide support, accommodations, and attention to students;</p> <p>Support teacher in tasks, including but not limited to setting up and maintaining the classroom, distributing and collecting materials, communicating with families, coordinating opportunities for students, and more;</p> <p>Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom, managing behavior and providing incentives (especially for those students who need modified behavior plans and systems);</p> <p>Implement and track detailed data for students on student support plans;</p> <p>Attend meetings with staff and families to progress monitor student performance;</p> <p>Provide class coverage and supervise lunch, recess and other subjects as needed;</p> <p>Correct homework, classwork, quizzes, and tests; and</p> <p>Complete other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Skills and Characteristics</p> <p>A passionate belief in the student of Lawrence Public Schools;</p> <p>Commitment to the academic and personal success of Lawrence Public Schools students and families;</p> <p>Proven history of successful collaboration;</p> <p>Ability to take initiative and succeed in a fast-paced classroom/ school environment while remaining calm and focused when faced with unexpected challenges; and</p> <p>Demonstrated capacity to create and maintain a positive learning environment in which students' diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected and utilized.</p> <p>Ability to reflect on practice and an openness to coaching and feedback.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bilingual and/ or Bicultural strongly preferred;</p> <p>Valid Massachusetts License;</p> <p>Minimum of two years' experience working with children preferred; and</p> <p>Current Authorization to work in the United States.</p> <p>Salary and benefits in accordance with the union contracts and LPS policy.</p> <p>Position : 343860026</p> <p>Location : OLIVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL</p> <p>Posting End : 01/21/2026</p> <p>Salary: $25.51-$33.27</p>
