<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Elementary Staff - Social-Emotional Support Specialist - Bridgeway Elementary - 2025-2026</p> <p>Position Purpose:</p> <p>The Social-Emotional Support Specialist will utilize behavior data in a systemic, organized approach in order to identify, and personalize behavior supports so that all students, no matter their background or situation can have their needs met in order to become high achieving learners. Through behavior screenings, classroom observations, and regular meetings, the Student Support Specialist will help support teachers in implementing behavior plans for specific students as well as interpreting behavior data trends in their classroom and across their grade level.</p> <p>Work Schedule/Position Information:</p> <ul> <li>Salary range - $54,730 - $95,280 (Salary Band WC) </li><li>Salary is determined based on years of experience </li><li>Contract days - 212 days </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Work with district staff to assess, determine the function of, and improve student behavior </li><li>Partner with building leadership, counselors, and social workers to ensure the well-being of the whole child </li><li>Oversee effective school-wide implementation of research-based social-emotional curriculum Support implementation of multi-tiered interventions for students' social-emotional needs as well as internalizing and externalizing behaviors, including monitoring data for student progress and overall effectiveness </li><li>Facilitate the development, monitoring, and communication-related to behavior modification plans </li><li>Serve as the team leader of the care team for emotional/behavioral needs </li><li>Provide home/school behavior support serving as the school liaison for regular communication and family information sessions </li><li>Provide district level and classroom level staff development focusing on research-based behavior strategies including restorative practices and trauma-sensitive classrooms </li><li>Work with support staff and their work with students (e.g. bus drivers, paraprofessionals, food service staff) </li><li>Complete observations of specific behaviors for teacher data and serve as part of the school FABI (Functional Assessment Behavior Intervention) team </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related tasks/duties as assigned by district administration </li><li>There will be some district-level responsibilities assigned for contract days when district certified teaching staff and/or students are not present at the school. </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.</p> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required </li></ul> <p>Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of social work principles, theories, methods, assessments, etc. </li><li>Knowledge of differentiated instruction based on student learning styles </li><li>Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans </li><li>Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students </li><li>Knowledge of trauma-informed care </li><li>Ability to organize and coordinate work with others </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians </li></ul> <p>Preferred/Desired Certification/License:</p> <ul> <li>Missouri Licensed Clinical State Social Worker Certification and/or </li><li>Licensed Clinical Counselor and/or </li><li>Teaching certification with relevant experience </li></ul> <p>Desired Educational Background:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in social work, education, or counseling </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Successful prior social work or related experience preferred </li></ul> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
