<p>Role Descriptions & Responsibilities</p> <p>As an intern on the SIMULIA Strategy & Industry Portfolio Management Team, you will contribute to research and documentation focused on image segmentation techniques used to convert medical imaging data into usable 3D geometries for applications in the Life Sciences & Healthcare (LS&H) industry.</p> <p>This role requires familiarity with commercial finite element analysis (FEA) software, and ideally, a background or interest in the LS&H domain. Experience with image segmentation tools, statistical shape analysis, and related workflows is highly desirable.</p> <p>You will develop customer-facing best practice documentation for image segmentation workflows, supporting common structural and fluid simulation use cases in the Life Sciences & Healthcare (LS&H) industry.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field </li><li>Academic or industry experience using image segmentation tools to convert medical images into 3D models for clinical analysis workflows </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication and teamwork abilities </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with image segmentation tools (open-source or commercial) </li><li>Experience with structural and/or fluid simulations, preferably using Abaqus FEA </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications that would be a plus:</p> <ul> <li>Expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Optimization. </li></ul> <p>This is a paid six-month internship starting early 2026.
