<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Human Resources Section Manager is responsible for administering and directing significant department-wide Human Resources (HR) service programs including recruitment and staffing activities, classification, compensation, and related survey activities for the Department of Revenue and Department of Veterans Affairs.</p> <p>Primary responsibilities include the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Administration and direction of recruitment/staffing and classification/compensation activities for the assigned agencies</p> </li><li> <p>Supervision and development of assigned staff</p> </li><li> <p>Human resources data management</p> </li></ul> <p>Please review the Human Resources Section Manager position description for more details.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in the Human Resources Program Officer classification, pay schedule-range 81-02 with an annual salary of $100,880 - $107,577, plus excellent benefits. A two-year Career Executive trial period is required.</p> <p>For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at time of hire.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Background Checks: Due to the nature of this position, final candidates will be subject to criminal background, caregiver background, fingerprint, and tax compliance checks.</p> <p>The Department of Administration does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship when completing the I-9 form upon hire.</p> <p>The results from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies if they become available.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the Letter of Qualifications (LoQ).</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants must describe experience with all the following:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising professional HR staff performing duties such as evaluating employee performance, hiring, discipline, assigning work, resolving conflict, etc. </li><li>Working in a professional human resources role performing recruitment and staffing related activities (e.g., conducting position analyses, developing job announcements and applicant screening tools, developing interview questions, etc.). </li><li>Developing or revising policies/procedures related to HR. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the minimum qualifications above, well-qualified applicants will also have experience with at least some of the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Providing oversight and supervision of other supervisors in a formal HR role.</p> </li><li> <p>Leading human resources program-related process improvement initiatives utilizing surveys, practitioner and customer interviews, and/or other quality improvement tools</p> </li><li> <p>Guiding executive-level leaders in the interpretation and application of HR laws, administrative rules, and/or policies</p> </li><li> <p>Performing employee classification and/or compensation functions</p> </li><li> <p>Performing any of the above qualifications in the public sector</p> </li><li> <p>Leading staff in providing simultaneous human resources support to multiple organizations/departments with different operational needs or objectives</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with any of the above qualifications in a large organization consisting of 1,000 or more employees</p> </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>The steps to apply online are quick and easy!
