We invite you to apply to be a part of our University community!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Reporting to the Safety Programs Manager, the EHSS Technician supports environmental health and safety programs.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Support the development, implementation, review and evaluation of environmental health, safety and sustainability programs, plans and procedures </li><li>Draft professional reports with findings and corrective actions </li><li>Utilize continuous improvement principles in all EHSS responsibilities </li><li>Cultivate a positive culture of safety by role modeling safe behavior and a demonstrated commitment to safety </li><li>Respond to off-hours emergencies </li><li>Support operations in Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability by assisting with special projects, recordkeeping, training and marketing </li><li>Assists with hazardous waste removals </li><li>Conducts inspections </li><li>Assists with instrument calibration </li><li>Conduct regular assessments of worksite environments to identify potential safety hazards </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered) </li><li>Successful candidates must be able to wear an air-purifying respirator, lift 50 pounds, transport drums weighing 450 pounds using a drum hand truck and have a valid driver's license. </li><li>Position requires after-hours emergency responses. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in environmental health and safety </li><li>Experience in a college or university setting </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>You must submit your CV/resume, cover letter, and list of three (3) professional references, including current contact information. Salary will be between $50,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
