<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for the overall daily operations of Ambulance Dispatch/Ground Ambulance operations within Charleston Medbase to ensure the efficient and timely assignment of ambulance transport to requests for service. This is a dual-role position requiring both administrative and leadership duties as well as hands-on dispatching of ambulances in support of CAMC/Vandalia Health patients and other entities as needed.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Ensure the efficient operation of Ambulance Dispatch within Charleston Medbase.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain communication standards in accordance with medical transmission protocols, Legislative Rules, WV State Code, FAA and FCC regulations. </li><li>Establish communication links and relay all necessary information to appropriate patient care representatives. </li><li>Receive and relay requests for ambulance transportation. Determine and relay to ambulance crews location of patient pickup and drop-off points with pertinent patient information. Maintain following of HealthTeam (and other tracking assets) via Flight Vector map tracking, make all necessary updates as needed to the sending and receiving facilities. </li><li>Create, maintain and/or update as needed all forms, databases, and documents utilized by Ambulance Dispatch operations in Charleston Medbase. </li><li>Complete payroll, maintain employee scheduling to meet department volume and needs, maintain necessary supplies (paper, forms, stationery, etc.) ordering as needed, and other duties as assigned by the department Manager. </li><li>Assist with hiring and onboarding process to include candidate selection(s) from received applications; scheduling and participation in applicant interviews; scheduling a new-hire for department orientation and job-specific trainingMonitor employee performances providing correction and instruction where necessary </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)</p> <p>The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.
