<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Infection Control Nurse evaluates quality of resident care and resident outcomes as they relate to healthcare associated/nosocomial infections.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities of an Infection Control RN/LPN:</p> <ul> <li>Does on-going monitoring of health care associated/nosocomial infections </li><li>Track trends in infection within the facility and report infection clusters to appropriate agencies required by state and local regulations. </li><li>Identify infection control issues and make recommendations for corrective action </li><li>Must meet job related competencies as outlined in the Skills Competency Manual </li><li>Monitors infection control practices and employee compliance </li><li>Ensures compliance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and Tuberculosis Control Plan </li><li>Reports communicable disease to the state as required by law </li><li>Attend required in-service education, presents Infection Control in-services </li><li>Participates in the QA process and "Nurse On-Call" program </li><li>Communicates effectively with residents, staff and visitors </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse (PA/OH)/Licensed Practical Nurse (OH only) with the State Board of Nursing. CPR certification recommended.
