<p>2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>West Carrollton City Schools Job Description</p> <p>Title: School Resources Officer</p> <p>Reports To: Superintendent</p> <p>Evaluated By: Superintendent</p> <p>Job Location: As Assigned</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Provides a safe and secure environment through building and establishing meaningful relationships with students and staff and proactively interacting with the school community to ensure the enforcement of all related laws, preservation of public order, protection of life and the prevention, detection, or investigation of crime.</p> <p>Job Index Number: 208</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field </li></ul> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of work experience in law enforcement in a traditional law enforcement agency or school environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>1-3 years experience in data entry </li><li>1-3 years with receptionist or secretarial duties </li><li>Prior experience with student enrollments and withdrawals from a public school district </li><li>Prior experience in human resources </li><li>Associate's degree </li></ul> <p>Required Licensure: Certification as a Peace Officer</p> <p>Essential Functions (includes % of time spent on the job):</p> <ul> <li>Patrol district property for suspicious activity, unauthorized persons on campus, or unauthorized entry after hours. </li><li>Provide in-service training to help administrators be better prepared to deal with security-related matters and serve as a wrap-around services team member to support student success. </li><li>Serve as a visible and active law enforcement officer on campus dealing with law-related areas such as drugs, traffic, trespassing, fighting, and thefts. </li><li>Respond to calls on crimes against person or property in progress, report crimes that have already occurred, and intrusion/fire alarms; perform preliminary investigation at the scene. </li><li>Prepare written reports, maintain daily logs, and obtain and serve arrest and search warrants as necessary. </li><li>Conduct security-building assessments for schools; guard, check and secure doors, rooms, buildings and quipment. </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with public safety agencies to serve as a liaison between school and community to deter criminal and delinquent behavior. </li><li>Provide classroom presentation on crime prevention and fundamental concepts and structure of the law. </li><li>Performs other duties as directed. </li></ul> <p>Physical</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to walk, run, climb, crawl or sit for extended periods of time. </li><li>Fine motor skills required for use in pincher grasp and typing. </li></ul> <p>Working</p> <p>Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in a both indoors and outdoors school setting and may be in inclement weather. </li></ul> <p>Performance Evaluation:</p> <p>Job performance is evaluated according to the policy provisions and procedures of the West Carrollton City Schools. The supervisor shall assess/rate the individual's job performance against the responsibilities and essential elements that are applicable and included in this job description.
