This role is responsible for supervising maintenance staff, coordinating complex plumbing and pipefitting projects, and ensuring all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with state standards. This includes diagnosing system issues, planning corrective actions, and coordinating with other maintenance personnel as needed. </li><li>Provide reliable weekend on-call coverage for emergency maintenance and repair needs, responding promptly to system failures, leaks, blockages, or other urgent issues to maintain continuous facility operations and ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and offenders. </li><li>Train, supervise, and direct assigned inmate workers in the proper repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, tool control procedures, and correctional facility policies. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring work quality, and fostering skill development while maintaining secure and orderly work environments. </li></ul> <p>Position-Specific Details: </p> <p>Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE </p> <ul> <li>Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. </li><li>An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. </li><li>This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment.
