<p>Job Description</p> <p>ECU Health</p> <p>About ECU Health Medical Center</p> <p>ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position is primarily a clinical supervisor for hospital services and assures delivery of age-appropriate care. He/She/They function as the in-house hospital administrator communicating problems as applicable to hospital leadership. The role is responsible for Program Planning, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Quality Assurance, Staff Development, Collaboration with Medical Staff, Hospital Leadership, Hospital Departments, and external agencies.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patient. </li><li>Assesses, intervenes in and evaluates department clinical needs by rounding throughout clinical areas. </li><li>Assists clinical team with emergent and urgent clinical situations. </li><li>Initiates, monitors and/or participates in program development, implementation, evaluation and revisions. </li><li>Promotes public relations to increase customer awareness of services provided. </li><li>Acts on behalf of the Hospital administrative staff to coordinate hospital services by making decisions that positively impact patient care. </li><li>Has the autotomy to implement decisions that are made and is the final authority in the hospital during the absence of the unit managers and administration. </li><li>Facilitate the implementation of the external/internal disaster plan and other emergency situations. </li><li>Counsels, supports, and mentor unit staff with decision making and strategizing how to best provide care to current and potential patients. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>BSN or higher required</p> <p>Unrestricted NC RN license required or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required.</p> <p>American Heart Association BLS is required.</p> <p>3-5 years of clinical experience is required</p> <p>Progressive leadership experience is required</p> <p>Other Information</p> <p>Shift: PRN</p> <p>General Statement</p> <p>It is the goal of ECU Health and its entities to employ the most qualified individual who best matches the requirements for the vacant position.</p> <p>Offers of employment are subject to successful completion of all pre-employment screenings, which may include an occupational health screening, criminal record check, education, reference, and licensure verification.</p> <p>We value diversity and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
