<p>enior Database Developer</p> <p>Role Summary</p> <p>We are seeking a Senior Database Developer to design, develop, optimize, and manage database solutions for a cloud native application deployed on Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep expertise in Azure SQL / SQL Server, strong ownership of database design and performance, and hands on involvement in CI/CD driven database deployments using PowerShell.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain Azure SQL / SQL Server databases to support enterprise grade applications </li><li>Develop and optimize T SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and indexes </li><li>Ensure database performance, scalability, availability, and data integrity </li><li>Partner closely with application developers to support backend and full stack features </li><li>Implement and manage database deployments using PowerShell and automated release pipelines </li><li>Support CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub </li><li>Perform schema versioning, migration, partitioning, and release coordination across environments </li><li>Troubleshoot production issues and perform performance tuning and root cause analysis </li><li>Enforce database security, access controls, and best practices </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 6 years strong experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent role </li><li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required </li><li>Advanced expertise in SQL Server / Azure SQL </li><li>Strong T SQL development skills (stored procedures, indexing, query optimization) </li><li>Experience with Azure hosted databases and cloud based architectures </li><li>Hands on experience with PowerShell for database deployment and automation </li><li>Experience working with Azure DevOps pipelines and GitHub for version control </li><li>Solid understanding of database design principles and data modeling </li><li>Experience supporting applications built on .NET / C# (backend integration) </li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM, or Terraform, experience with database monitoring, performance diagnostics, and tuning in Azure is preferred </li><li>Familiarity with security, auditing, and compliance requirements </li><li>Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments </li><li>Individual contributor role with strong ownership of database architecture and delivery </li><li>Collaborative mindset, working closely with full stack, backend, and DevOps teams </li></ul> <p>KPMG LLP ("KPMG") seeks a contractor in the United States to provide service to KPMG through one of our contracted employer/agency service providers.
