<p>Description: 1 position available</p> <p>In an effort to support K-5 EL students in maintaining and growing their language development,</p> <p>Wellesley Public Schools (WPS) will offer an in-person summer learning program. The goal is to sustain students' language learning and mitigate potential summer learning loss.</p> <p>This is a WPS summer program for currently enrolled K-5 EL students. The EL Summer</p> <p>Teacher will be responsible for implementing lessons using the EL Department's Reach curriculum, which will be provided. The position reports to the Director of Multilingual and Director of DEI.</p> <ul> <li>6 hours of preparation prior to summer school starting (Before 06/30/26) </li><li>EL Summer Program runs from July 6 - 23, 2026, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, Monday - Thursday. </li><li>2 hours of preparation weekly during the summer program. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Director of Multilingual Education, PK-5 Department Heads in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies and EL Summer Program Administrator to discuss criteria for student summer learning selections and review the Reach curriculum for the summer program. </li><li>Collaborate with the EL Summer Program Administrator and EL program teachers to deliver the summer instructional program. </li><li>Implement technology, when appropriate and needed, for planning, programming, and support. </li><li>Take and track student attendance in collaboration with the EL Program Administrator. </li><li>Communicate with EL families on general summer school progress of their students. </li><li>Provide updates to the Summer EL Program Administrator, Director of Multilingual Learners, Director of DEI and Building Principals. </li><li>Upon the completion of the EL Summer Learning Program: Provide attendance data to the EL Summer Program Administrator, Director of Multilingual Learners and Director of DEI, as well as an attendance report to Department Heads and Building Principals. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the EL Summer Program Administrator, Director of Multilingual Learners and Director of DEI. </li></ul> <p>Reports to: EL Summer Program Administrator, Director of Multilingual Learners and Director of DEI</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>Teachers' hourly rate capping at M8</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
