<p>TITLE: Environmental, Health & Safety Intern</p> <p>REPORTS TO: EHS Manager</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Production Management</p> <p>EXEMPTION STATUS: Seasonal, Hourly, Non-Exempt</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for aiding in facilitating the Company's safety and environmental programs, including adherence to safety and environmental laws and regulations.</p> <p>PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Aides in development and implementation of plant environmental, health and safety programs. </li><li>Aides in developing and implementing safety practices, procedures, and policies. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to research all pertinent safety laws and regulations (MIOSHA, OSHA, DEQ, EPA, DOT, etc.). </li><li>Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with unions, federal, state, local and insurance inspectors, and corporate management and employees. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and prioritize. </li><li>Exceptional attention to detail. </li><li>Microsoft Office </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Office and manufacturing environment. May be some mild discomfort due to heat, dust, noise, and the like. </li><li>Keyboarding is occasionally required. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds may be required. </li><li>Work frequently requires attention to details. Frequent pressures related to meeting deadlines, scheduling requirements and simultaneous projects are required.
