<p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Community Health Engagement Coordinator is a fulltime, exempt position with the Live Healthy Spartanburg (LHS) coalition. The role is responsible for implementing LHS strategies to improve health and well-being throughout Spartanburg County. The key role of this position is to ensure that organizational goals and strategies include the voice of those community members most impacted by health and social inequities. This position will be responsible for participation in the LHS Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan processes, and the LHA resident ambassador program.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years community outreach experience, coalition-building and or community organizing </li><li>Knowledge of community resources, grassroots organizations, and community-led advocacy groups </li><li>Strong interpersonal and active listening skills and ability to build trusted community relationships </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to lead facilitated discussions/meetings, some public speaking experience </li></ul> <p>License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, or relevant field of expertise. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>8 or more years community outreach, coalition building, and/or aligning community health priorities. </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Certified Health Education Specialist </li><li>Community Health Worker </li></ul> <p>Core Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Actively represent LHS in engagement opportunities that promote the perspectives of those most impacted by health inequities. </li><li>Build and implement strategic partnerships based on trust with community-based entities such as: neighborhood associations, faith-based organizations, grassroots leaders, etc. </li><li>Under the direction of the manager, coordinate the resident ambassador program, including onboarding participants, facilitating regular meetings, and ensuring alignment with other coalition initiatives. </li><li>Attend and participate in community meetings as necessary, which may include the City and County council, community collaboratives, neighborhood associations, etc. in the evenings and on weekends as needed. </li><li>Identify and coordinate resources and trainings, leadership development opportunities for community groups. </li><li>Under the direction of the manager, work closely with all committees to assure priorities and solutions are developed with the input and guidance of grassroots leaders; Successfully track and manage goals and report on outcomes. </li><li>Maintain strong ethical standards, reliability, accountability, positive attitude, and confidentiality </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul>
