Our work is mission-critical, supporting the U.S. Navy and strengthening national security.</p> <p>A Materials Expediter is a vital component within the supply chain and logistics sectors, tasked with ensuring the seamless flow of materials and components required for production and operational processes. This role is critical in industries where timely procurement and distribution directly impact the efficiency, schedule adherence and profitability of the business. In this newly formed role, you will work to ensure timely delivery of purchased material by coordinating with suppliers, tracking purchase orders, resolving delays, and liaising between procurement, production, engineering, program office and various organizations to remove roadblocks in the supply base.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, material availability teams and other internal teams to resolve any issues related to material shortages or delaysWork closely with suppliers to manage lead times, quality issues and delivery performanceAct as a liaison between suppliers, purchasing, warehouse staff, and production teams to coordinate deliveries and material movement.Collaborate with production, engineering and logistics teams to align material deliveries with project schedules and specificationsContact vendors, verify supplies,and communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates and inform Project Managers of potential delays.Follow-up with suppliers to determine schedule restoration plans and corrective actions to ensure delivery performance, and/or monitor activities during the product manufacturing/shipmentIdentify and resolve issues related to material shortages, delays, damaged goods, or incorrect orders at the suppliers</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Skills: What sets you apart</p> <ul> <li>Strong presentation creation and reporting skills </li><li>Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment </li><li>Superior attention to detail skills </li><li>Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task </li><li>Problem-solving abilitiesand the capacity to work under pressure to mitigate disruptions. </li><li>Strong organizational and communication skillsare essential for coordinating with various stakeholders. </li><li>Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams </li><li>Strong project management andprioritizing skills. </li><li>Familiarity with supply chain principlesand inventory management </li><li>Willing and able to interact effectively with all levels of management. </li><li>Ability to function independently and work in a multi discipline team environment. </li><li>Willingness to assist with issues using independent judgment, ingenuity, creativity and sound Decision-making </li><li>Ability to analyze / interpret technical data and provide solutions to effectively schedule material in support of programs </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree </li><li>3+ years of experience in material management, supply chain logistics, engineering preferably in a manufacturing environment </li><li>Frequent monthly travel to various suppliers will be required </li><li>Proficient in using all Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros and graph/charts </li><li>Applicant must possess or be able to secure secret or higher DOD clearance </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirments:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration </li><li>Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies </li><li>Strong outfitting or machining experience and knowledge of deck and module construction </li><li>Experience and knowledge of Virginia and/or Columbia construction </li><li>ARTEMIS, Construction / Design, MRPII or TEAMCENTER experience </li></ul>
