The agency may terminate or modify the telecommuting arrangement at any time.</p> <p>Description</p> <p>The Office of Inspector General (OIG) performs many varied functions for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. OIG has six divisions: Division of Regulated Child Care, Division of Health Care, Certificate of Need, Division of Kentucky Health Information Exchange, Division of Telehealth, and the Division of Audits and Investigations. These divisions cover a wide variety of job tasks and duties in varied settings throughout Kentucky, which include inspecting and licensing childcare and healthcare facilities and services, and conducting investigations of complaints in those facilities, as well as conducting Medicaid fraud and other types of complaints for the Cabinet.</p> <p>The Dietetic Inspector completes surveys for certification and licensing of various types of health care facilities in the Northern Enforcement Branch. One of the primary duties of this position is working as a part of a team or independently to conduct dietary inspections for healthcare facilities to determine if deficient practices exist in a facility. This includes conducting complaint investigations, documenting violations, and determining facility compliance.</p> <p>If you are a professional, self-motivated, positive person with a desire to use your clinical and people skills to improve healthcare in Kentucky, and you desire to work with a team of dedicated professionals who believe in their mission, we would love to welcome you to our OIG family!</p> <p>This position does require extensive in-state travel, overtime, weekend work, and overnight stays depending on the type of survey and the location of the facility being inspected. It also requires the physical ability and energy to traverse large healthcare facilities for extended periods of time during surveys and inspections.</p> <p>This position reports to an office in Louisville (Jefferson Co.), KY and works with a survey team in the following counties: Breckinridge, Bullitt, Carroll, Gallatin, Hardin, Hart, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Owen, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble. We encourage applicants from these counties to apply.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct inspections of healthcare facilities and services for licensure and certification purposes. </li><li>Investigate complaints of regulatory violations in healthcare facilities. </li><li>Write Statements of Deficiencies and Type A citations. </li><li>Create written documents detailing findings of non-compliance in healthcare facilities and descriptions of information gathered. </li><li>Make final determinations related to complaint investigations. </li><li>Schedule and conduct revisits to determine compliance. </li><li>Monitor facility if termination or closure occur. </li><li>Participate in conferences, webinars, and other types of mandatory and optional training to improve knowledge and skills related to regulation of health care facilities. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Preferred skills and abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds and in diverse settings. </li><li>Ability to be flexible with work schedules, work assignments, and overtime needs. </li><li>Experience working in the healthcare field, preferably in a healthcare facility or service. </li><li>Excellent writing and speaking skills. </li><li>Proficiency with use of computers, tablets, smart phones for daily tasks. </li><li>Ability to travel, as needed, mostly in Kentucky.
