<p>Description</p> <p>The primary function of this employee is to complete the daily facility operations of assigned parks, including general maintenance of park grounds, facility security, facility and equipment maintenance, and to ensure the park is safe for all visitors. The employee assists with building and grounds maintenance tasks, which include mowing grass, removing / cutting weeds, removing debris and trash, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, lining ball fields, placing bases on ball fields, etc. and performs basic repairs throughout the park.</p> <p>This position reports to Park Manager. This position may also report to Park Supervisor and Maintenance Foreman during specific projects or circumstances.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>Inspects facilities, activities and operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of quality and safety. Initiates corrective action as required.</p> <p>Takes appropriate steps to ensure the security and safety of all citizens that utilize assigned facilities.</p> <p>Preforms routine duties such as custodial tasks, stocking bathrooms, emptying trash cans, preparing athletic fields, preparing rental buildings, etc.</p> <p>General ground maintenance duties such as mulching garden beds, picking weeds pruning flowers/trees, edging sidewalks, etc.</p> <p>Attends and assists in park activities and events.</p> <p>Assists with program promotional efforts, including distributing publicity materials to various locations.</p> <p>Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.</p> <p>Maintains inventory of office, concession, and sports / program supplies.</p> <p>Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints of citizens and participants.</p> <p>Attends County, staff and community meetings and events as appropriate.</p> <p>Receives and reviews various records and reports including schedules, memos, correspondence, etc.</p> <p>Prepares and/or processes a variety of documents, including but not limited to injury / accident reports, inventory records, maintenance reports, concessions</p> <p>reports, program information, and various other records, reports, memos and correspondence.</p> <p>Refers to policy and procedure manuals, computer manuals, program resources, sports rules, safety guidelines, etc.</p> <p>Operates a vehicle, bunker rake, mowers, and a variety of equipment such as a weed eater, leaf blower, tamper, sprayer, chalk liner, computer, printer, calculator,</p> <p>copier, fax machine, telephone, etc.</p> <p>Uses computer and clerical supplies, cleaning supplies, first aid supplies, various hand tools, sports paraphernalia, craft supplies, maintenance supplies, etc.</p> <p>Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other County supervisors and personnel, co-workers, inmate laborers, volunteers, program participants, parents, community organizations, church and school groups and personnel, and the general public.</p> <p>Performs related work as required.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:</p> <p>This job has specific physical requirements such as lifting, driving, ability to travel, etc.</p> <p>Operation and maintenance of grounds equipment; may need to lift up to 100 lbs., squat, crawl, stand, sit.</p> <p>Typical Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Level of Job-Related Education: High School diploma or equivalent</p> <p>Minimum Amount of Job-Related Experience: 6 months</p>
