<p>As a Hardware Product Manager, you will define and commercialize product offerings for Megapack, our B2B utility-scale energy storage solution. You will leverage your expertise to develop market and product requirements needed to deliver industry-leading products. You will also be a key technical member of a cross-functional Product Management team that also supports the ongoing development of technical content for sales, finance, and engineering teams for Tesla's industrial energy products.</p> <p>As a member of the Product Management team, you will be required to wear many hats and adapt to a fast-paced work environment. This is a multi-faceted role where strong knowledge of commercial and engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems) topics is a must, and energy and/or product management experience is highly desired. Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-oriented personality, members of our team display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting technology landscape.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Leverage market research, competitive diligence and customer feedback to define product vision and strategy</p> </li><li> <p>Create business cases and market & product requirements to inform the product roadmap priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Define and commercialize offerings into standardized, sellable products to ensure successful product launches and customer success, working closely with cross-functional teams across the engineering and commercial organizations</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and drive implementation of technical content (technical documentation, marketing collateral, Independent Engineering reports) to provide internal and external parties with all information pertinent to our products and offerings on product topics related to performance, safety, installation, features, grid code, safety compliance, and much more</p> </li><li> <p>Act as primary stakeholder for education of critical product features for internal teams, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and officials (PUCs, fire departments, utilities, etc)</p> </li><li> <p>Optimize industrial project margins for individual high impact projects through techno-economic modeling and assessment of product capabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Always look for opportunities to improve our processes and support our growth</p> </li><li> <p>Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience in product management or in the energy industry, preferably in the energy storage technology space; experience with launching new products or offerings is a must</p> </li><li> <p>An overall rock-solid blend of engineering (electrical, mechanical) and commercial expertise</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across many teams, in a short timeframe, with demonstrated ability to pivot rapidly</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of renewable energy policies and regulations (e.g. product safety and compliance) is highly desired</p> </li><li> <p>Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid</p> </li></ul>
