The people that carry out this rewarding, care giving support play an integral and crucial role in the success of our organization.</p> <p>Easterseals Midwest is searching for an individual who is passionate about improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This position offers flexible scheduling and fulfilling work, providing in-home support services to families and their children with autism.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provides individualized support services to families. </li><li>Conducts training programs for families, both at the office and in the home. This consists of the delivery of workshops to families, followed by modeling agency strategies with consumers during sessions, then coaching families to work with their son or daughter. </li><li>Conducts observations at schools, homes, and/or other locations for the purpose of offering suggestions to assist and benefit both the consumer and staff. </li><li>Provides group services for individuals and their families. </li><li>Supports individuals in their community including transporting the individuals and facilitating interaction between the client and members in the community. </li></ul> <p>A successful candidate will possess:</p> <ul> <li>Good communication skills, both oral and written. </li><li>Must be able to manage and embrace change and be flexible, reliable and dependable. </li><li>Must be able to think objectively and take quick action when the need arises. </li><li>Must be able to provide training and teach parents and professionals. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's Degree. </li><li>Experience: No experience required. Familiarity and/or some knowledge of individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred. </li></ul>
