<p>Union or Non-Union: Union</p> <p>Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Department: Facilities</p> <p>Report To: Facilities Director</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Maintenance Mechanic is accountable for the entire repair and service work in a facility and is required to comply with the standard operating procedures of the center.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Painting, plastering and masonry of interior/exterior surfaces. </li><li>Plumbing repairs (except for boiler) as required. </li><li>Light electrical repair and installation. </li><li>Appliance, machinery, lock installation and office furniture repair. </li><li>Performs carpentry refurbishing and repair as required. </li><li>Responsible for coordinating (as per the direction of the Support Services Coordinator) with the NYC DOH and other contractors for the necessary maintenance and repairs of the facility: </li><li>Assist in numerous incidental jobs relating to facility/custodial procedures and operations. </li><li>Assists custodial personnel in performing emergency custodial functions. </li><li>Assists in obtaining and dispensing of needed equipment, materials, supplies. </li><li>Secures all equipment/tools on a daily basis. </li><li>Removes debris from facility grounds to dump area. Maintains landscape and shrubbery, removes snow and performs sidewalk deicing as needed. </li><li>Removal of trash and medical hazardous waste from facility. </li><li>Assists in the transport manually or otherwise of heavy items. </li><li>Maintains facility offices/patient care areas including cleaning, vacuuming, as well as maintenance. </li><li>Responsible for opening/closing facility as required. </li><li>Does other jobs within the maintenance department as required. </li><li>Other duties as they relate to Facilities Operations </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>H.S. Graduate or GED Certificate </li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience with light electrical, plumbing and carpentry work </li><li>Ability to follow written and oral instructions </li></ul> <p>.</p>
