<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Join a National Leader in Title Insurance</p> <p>Old Republic Title is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Recovery Counsel to join our Corporate Legal team. In this in-house counsel role, you'll play a key part in protecting our bottom line by recovering losses from title insurance and escrow claims across the country. Whether you're a junior Claims Attorney, Recovery Attorney, or Real Estate Attorney, this is your opportunity to build a meaningful legal career with a respected national brand in the title insurance industry.</p> <p>This is a hybrid position based out of either our Westbury, NY or Wayne, PA location.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>As Associate Recovery Counsel, you'll manage a portfolio of national recovery files and collaborate with internal teams, external Claims Attorneys, and outside counsel to mitigate and recover financial losses. Your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Managing low to moderate liability recovery files stemming from title insurance and escrow claims issued through our national agent network and direct operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducting investigations and legal research to evaluate and pursue viable recovery opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinating with and overseeing outside Recovery Attorneys and litigation counsel.</p> </li><li> <p>Negotiating settlements with liable parties to minimize company losses.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating with internal Claims Attorneys and Claims Administrators to preserve recovery rights during active claims handling.</p> </li><li> <p>Responding to requests related to satisfactions, releases, and payoffs.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring all recovery actions are compliant with state and federal debt collection statutes.</p> </li><li> <p>Tracking and managing bookable assets associated with claim recovery.</p> </li><li> <p>Drafting formal correspondence to internal departments, external parties, and legal teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Attending occasional after-hours company events and meetings as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Some travel will be required.</p> </li></ul> <p>What You Bring:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Juris Doctor (JD) and licensed to practice law in your state of residence, or eligible for in-house counsel registration.</p> </li><li> <p>0-3 years of experience, ideally as a Claims Attorney, Recovery Attorney, or Real Estate Attorney.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with title insurance, escrow processes, and real estate transactions.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for handling high-volume document review.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and digital case management tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across teams.</p> </li><li> <p>A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>#LI-MO1</p> <p>The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work.
