Cleveland Clinic's Police Department is a large department with ongoing training opportunities and opportunities to move up through the ranks (Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander, Deputy Chief and Chief of Police).</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works nights from 10:00pm to 6:30am.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with supervising an assigned platoon or details of police and civilian personnel. </li><li>Act as a senior officer in tactical situations until relieved by a higher training officer in charge. </li><li>Act as liaison with administration and local law enforcement agencies. </li><li>Investigate complaints from various departments. </li><li>Prepare reports. </li><li>Assist with assigning and supervising subordinate officers on an assigned shift or specific detail. </li><li>Assist with training new security officers (armed and unarmed), civilian personnel and police officers. </li><li>Provide police protection and enforcement of state and local laws and hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations. </li><li>Perform general security functions for hospital property, caregivers, patients, and visitors. </li><li>Maintain firearm qualification standards. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Completion of the Ohio Peace Office Training Academy (OPOTA) </li><li>Possess a valid Ohio driver's license (VDL) and maintain eligibility for insurability to operate organization vehicles for emergency purposes </li><li>Two years of full-time experience as a police officer including at least one year of experience in the Cleveland Clinic Police Department </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Experience within a hospital security setting </li><li>One year experience as a corporal </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Full body mobility, agility, physical strength and stamina sufficient to chase, apprehend and subdue criminal suspects, respond to crisis interventions and medical emergencies. </li><li>Activities may include running of approximately 300 meters, dragging loads of approximately 200 pounds. </li><li>Must be able to drive vehicle for up to 60 consecutive minutes. </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $34.50</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $47.80</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
