<p>The Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for personnel assigned to Access Control, Security Operations Center (SOC), and Visitor Control Center (VCC) functions. This role ensures all employees are properly trained on post orders, policies, procedures, systems, customer service expectations, emergency response protocols, and regulatory or contract requirements. The Training Manager works closely with site leadership, quality, program management, and operations teams to maintain a highly qualified workforce capable of performing in a professional, compliant, and mission-focused environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and manage initial, refresher, remedial, and recurring training programs for Access Control, SOC, and VCC personnel. </li><li>Ensure all training aligns with contract requirements, site post orders, standard operating procedures, and applicable security regulations. </li><li>Create and maintain lesson plans, training materials, job aids, presentations, exams, practical exercises, and training records. </li><li>Conduct classroom, hands-on, scenario-based, and on-the-job training for newly hired and existing personnel. </li><li>Evaluate employee readiness for assignment through written tests, observations, drills, practical demonstrations, and performance assessments. </li><li>Oversee onboarding and certification processes for new hires before they are assigned to duty posts. </li><li>Provide training on access control procedures, badge issuance, visitor processing, incident reporting, alarm monitoring, emergency communications, customer service, and use of security systems. </li><li>Train staff on proper handling of sensitive information, visitor accountability, reporting requirements, and chain-of-command communication. </li><li>Partner with site supervisors and program leadership to identify performance gaps and implement corrective or remedial training as needed. </li><li>Coordinate and document recurring drills and exercises, including emergency response, evacuation, incident escalation, and continuity procedures. </li><li>Monitor changes to post orders, procedures, systems, and contract requirements and update training programs accordingly. </li><li>Maintain accurate and audit-ready training records, certifications, attendance logs, and compliance documentation. </li><li>Support quality assurance efforts by reviewing incident trends, audit findings, and operational deficiencies to improve training effectiveness. </li><li>Ensure training is delivered consistently across all shifts and work locations, as applicable. </li><li>Assist with development of cross-training programs to improve workforce flexibility across Access Control, SOC, and VCC functions. </li><li>Serve as a subject matter resource to supervisors and employees on training standards, performance expectations, and procedural compliance. </li><li>Prepare training status reports, metrics, and briefings for leadership and customer review as required. </li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in security operations, access control, visitor control, SOC operations, training, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience developing, delivering, or managing training programs in a security, law enforcement, military, government, or contract environment. </li><li>Experience training personnel in operational procedures, emergency response, report writing, customer service, and security systems usage. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Access Control, SOC, and Visitor Control processes and best practices. </li><li>Experience creating lesson plans, training presentations, SOP-based instruction, and employee performance documentation. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to present information clearly and effectively to both small and large groups. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records and meet deadlines. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced security environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience supporting a government, federal, DoD, DHS, or cleared facility contract. </li><li>Experience with badging systems, access control platforms, visitor management systems, alarm monitoring software, or security incident tracking systems. </li><li>Knowledge of training compliance documentation and audit preparation. </li><li>Prior military, law enforcement, force protection, or physical security training experience. </li><li>Experience instructing adult learners in a structured or operational environment. </li><li>Instructor certification or formal training certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Training program management </li><li>Instruction and facilitation </li><li>Security operations knowledge </li><li>Procedural compliance </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Documentation and recordkeeping </li><li>Leadership and coaching </li><li>Communication and customer service </li><li>Problem-solving and decision-making </li><li>Mission focus and accountability </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Work may be performed in office, training room, control center, and operational security environments. </li><li>Position may require supporting multiple shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs. </li><li>May require travel between sites or training locations. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to walk 3-5 miles during shift </li><li>Ability to stand for 60 minutes at a time </li><li>Occasional climbing of ladders. </li><li>Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps. </li><li>Prolonged standing. </li><li>Occasional lifting 50lbs. / 22.5kg. </li><li>Occasional push or pull 50-75lbs. / 22.5-34kg. with assistive device. </li><li>*Normal visual acuity (near, far and peripheral with correction). </li><li>*Normal color vision for electrical work. </li></ul>
