Dispatchers are responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers and hospital property by coordinating and addressing the Security Dispatch Office activities and responsibilities.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works 6:00PM - 6:00AM or 10:00PM-6:00AM.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Receive calls and requests for service and formulate correct responses.</p> </li><li> <p>Regulate radio traffic by dispatching calls and relaying information.</p> </li><li> <p>Answer questions and give directions to visitors, caregivers and patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor hospital activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations or unusual activity that may require Security involvement and responds appropriately.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement procedures for emergency situations such as fire, disaster, infant abduction, tornado, bomb threat, etc. as indicated in the Security Department Facility Orders and the M.C.I. Manual.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete appropriate and accurate documentation for dispatch logs, equipment logs, helipad logs, lost and recovered property, patient valuables, occurrence reports, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain knowledge of operation of access control systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain knowledge of all alarm systems and appropriate responses.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school graduate</p> </li><li> <p>Computer software proficiency</p> </li><li> <p>Typing and data entry skills</p> </li><li> <p>Clear speaking voice over a security radio system</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to dispatch personnel in escalating situations</p> </li><li> <p>Visual acuity to monitor security screens continuously</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Previous security and/or dispatch experience </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
