<p>Florida A&M University's Department of Nursing is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Academic Advisor/Recruiter vacancy.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Recruiter/Advisor position supports the mission and philosophy of the university and School of Nursing; and is responsible for assisting with the advisement of Pre nursing and professional level nursing students. The responsibilities of the Recruiter/Advisor include and is not limited to the following duties:</p> <p>Recruitment for the School of Nursing by working with the Director of Student Affairs and Health Professions team to develop and carry out recruitment strategies; Attend recruitment events as schedule including some weekend/evenings as directed by the Director and Dean; Tracking and monitoring potential students from recruitment efforts for the School of Nursing Programs; Support alumni engagement by participating in initiatives that strengthen relationships between the School of Nursing and its graduates; Maintain security of student files including FERPA regulations; Assist with data for reports related to the nursing program and its services; and, responsible for completing degree audits for pre nursing students and associate forms.</p> <p>Provide information to assist students in the application process for admission to the university and School of Nursing; Provide support to students identified by faculty for remediation by connecting them with appropriate resources and tracking their progress to ensure successful completion; Execute various targeted initiatives to enhance student engagement, satisfaction, and retention; Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment by working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to support student development and academic achievement; and, perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as education or counseling) and professional experience in student services, counseling, or higher education, often with 1-3 years preferred.</p> <p>Recommended Competencies</p> <p>Effective Communication;</p> <p>Data entry/management (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.);</p> <p>Strong interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Pay Plan</p> <p>This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <p>Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.</p> <p>Only United States (U.S.) citizens or aliens who have a legal right to work in the U.S. are eligible for employment. Federal law requires proof of your authorization to work in the United States. You will be required to provide proof of your identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of employment.</p> <p>Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S. Military Selective Service Act, during the person's period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person.
