<p>Job Description:</p> <p>ACES at Chase/ACES Chase Academy, a STEAM-themed interdistrict magnet school serving grades 6-10 (expanding to 6-12 by 27-28), seeks an innovative and collaborative Art and Technology Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring an interdisciplinary approach to teaching, strong technology skills, and a passion for engaging students in both visual and digital arts. This unique position offers opportunities to teach a range of creative and technical subjects, including traditional visual arts, computer-based art and design, and introductory engineering and technology through the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Curriculum Design and Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in visual arts, digital arts, and/or technology education. Integrate creative and technical skills into project-based learning experiences that connect to real-world applications. </li><li>Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across content areas to develop integrated units that support STEAM learning and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving. </li><li>Technology Integration: Use a variety of digital tools and platforms to enhance instruction. Provide students with hands-on experiences in areas such as digital design, computer graphics, 3D modeling, and introductory engineering. </li><li>Student Engagement and Growth: Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to explore their creative potential and develop technical competencies. </li><li>Assessment and Feedback: Assess student work using clear criteria and provide timely, constructive feedback that supports artistic growth and technical skill development. </li><li>Valid Connecticut certification in Art, PK-12 (042) or Technology Education, PK-12 (047) </li><li>Experience teaching visual arts, digital arts, and/or technology-based courses </li><li>Strong technology skills and comfort with digital media, design software, and engineering tools </li><li>Interdisciplinary mindset and commitment to STEAM education </li><li>Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills </li><li>Commitment to culturally-responsive teaching practices </li><li>Experience with PLTW (preferred but not required; paid training provided) </li></ul>
