<p>Department: Finance</p> <p>Reports To: Director of Finance</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt, Salary</p> <p>Location: FHC - Sheridan</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <p>Family Health Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Controller to lead our Accounting Department. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations to ensure compliance, integrity, and efficiency across all accounting functions. The Controller will serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, supporting financial planning, compliance reporting, audits, and the development of financial policies and procedures.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, cash receipts, financial reporting, provider productivity compensation, grants, investments, and payroll. </li><li>Manage and support accounting staff, including hiring, performance management, and professional development. </li><li>Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, cost reports, and grant reports. </li><li>Guide financial decision-making by developing and enforcing internal controls and financial policies. </li><li>Monitor expenditures and analyze budget performance throughout the fiscal year. </li><li>Lead the audit process and serve as the primary financial liaison with external auditors. </li><li>Collaborate in the preparation and analysis of the annual budget. </li><li>Prepare financial reports for Board of Directors, executive leadership and leaders. </li><li>Represent the organization at professional meetings and maintain up-to-date knowledge through professional development. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of direct fiscal management experience, including supervisory responsibilities. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. </li><li>Strong knowledge of financial management principles and budgetary practices. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop a high-performing finance team. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Accounting or Finance. </li><li>CMA, CPA, or equivalent certification. </li><li>Experience in a healthcare or nonprofit setting. </li><li>Knowledge of government and healthcare fiscal regulations and reporting. </li><li>Experience with Sage Intacct, ADP, EPIC, and Microsoft Teams. </li><li>Understanding of 457 plans, HSA, and grant management. </li></ul> <p>Key Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and collaboration skills. </li><li>High ethical standards and commitment to organizational values. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and plan work effectively. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Focused on continuous improvement and innovation. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Standard office environment with moderate noise levels. </li><li>Regular use of computer systems and telephone communication. </li><li>Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>At Family Health Center, we're committed to creating a professional, collaborative, and mission-driven environment where every team member can thrive.
