<p>LEOMINSTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>LCE/LA</p> <p>ELL TEACHER</p> <p>This full-time position supports English Learners (ELs) in two distinct learning environments:</p> <p>Leominster Center for Excellence (LCE) - A small, alternative high school focused on personalized learning and credit recovery, with an emphasis on building strong relationships and academic re-engagement.</p> <p>Leominster Academy - A virtual high school program serving students in Grades 9-12, providing remote access to high-quality curriculum through platforms such as Edgenuity.</p> <p>The ELL Teacher will provide English language development instruction and collaborate with content area teachers to ensure ELs can meaningfully access curriculum and demonstrate progress in both settings.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>At LCE (In-Person):</p> <ul> <li>Deliver direct English language instruction to EL students at varying proficiency levels. </li><li>Collaborate with general education and special education staff to provide sheltered instruction and academic supports. </li><li>Monitor EL student progress and language acquisition goals through WIDA standards. </li><li>Assist in planning culturally responsive lessons and projects within a credit recovery model. </li><li>Participate in Student Support Team (SST) meetings and family communication. </li></ul> <p>At Leominster Academy (Virtual):</p> <ul> <li>Provide virtual ESL instruction via live sessions, recordings, or 1:1 conferencing. </li></ul> <p>Scaffold and modify online assignments to support language development.</p> <p>Track student progress in virtual platforms like Edgenuity and offer targeted intervention.</p> <p>Support student and family engagement with multilingual outreach and technology navigation.</p> <p>Help design onboarding supports and success strategies for ELs learning remotely.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>MA DESE license in ESL (5-12)</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with high school English Learners in both traditional and alternative settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Comfort with virtual instruction tools, Google Workspace, and online curriculum platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong cross-cultural communication and advocacy skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with WIDA ACCESS testing, progress monitoring, and EL data compliance.</p> </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li> <p>An opportunity to shape student outcomes in flexible, relationship-driven programs.</p> </li><li> <p>A collaborative and mission-focused team culture.</p> </li><li> <p>Ongoing professional learning and support.</p> </li><li> <p>A dual-role structure that allows for creativity and impact in both in-person and virtual environments.</p> </li></ul>
