<p>06/23/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>05/31/2025</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>YOU BELONG IN THE POWER OF WE!</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - External</p> <p>POSITION: 12-Month - Paraprofessional</p> <p>LOCATION: Leach/Southern/George Read/Colwyck/TBD</p> <p>CLOSING DATE: May 31, 2025</p> <p>PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY: May 19th & 20th (2 hours after school @ summer school location) More information to follow from Site Coordinator(s).</p> <p>PROGRAM DATE: June 23, 2025, to July 17, 2025</p> <p>STAFF HOURS: Monday -Thursday</p> <p>` 12 Month CO/LE/SO: 7:45 am - 3:15 pm</p> <p>12-Month MS & HS GR: 7:00 am - 2:30 pm</p> <p>STUDENT HOURS: Monday -Thursday</p> <p>CO: 8:15 am-10:45 am & 12:00 pm - 2:50 pm</p> <p>12 Month: LE/SO 8:15 am - 2:50 pm</p> <p>12-Month MS & HS GR: 7:15 am - 1:50 pm</p> <p>COMPENSATION: Per Diem based on Paraeducator Scale</p> <p>POSITION GOAL:</p> <p>To assist Teachers in carrying out the Educational Program for a student or group of students so the maximum impact on the education of children can be realized.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Must have a High School Diploma or GED, and must be eligible for Title I certification by having passed the ParaPro Exam, or have an associate's degree or higher, or successfully completed 60 credits with a grade of "C" or above for coursework towards a paraeducator permit. </li><li>Must hold and maintain a valid Title I paraprofessional permit while working with the district. </li><li>Acceptable Criminal Background Report and no entries on Child Abuse Registry. </li><li>Previous experience working with students in a classroom setting preferred but not mandatory. </li><li>Ability to support students who require help with physical positioning and self-care (i.e. eating and bathrooming), including physically lifting students using specialized techniques and equipment. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities related to the District. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Work cooperatively with all school staff and students. </li><li>Assist in carrying out the Individual Educational Program for a student or group of students once trained by a professional staff member. </li><li>Work with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning materials or skills introduced by the teacher; may include reading to or writing for the student. </li><li>Report information on student needs. </li><li>Assist with safe and orderly student movement within the building and outside, as required. </li><li>Maintain the confidentiality of student information. Inquiries regarding compliance with the above may be directed to the Director of Human Resources. </li><li>Prepare the physical environment for the day's activities including the gathering of materials, maintaining an orderly environment, and securing materials and equipment at the end of the workday. </li><li>Perform routine paperwork and record keeping tasks related to the duties of the professional to whom the paraprofessional is assigned. </li><li>Apply consistent and appropriate standards of behavior, achievement, and discipline to individual students, as agreed upon with professional staff and as written in the students' IEP and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). </li><li>Participate in parent conferences, IEP planning, and IEP meetings, as appropriate. </li><li>Assist students by reinforcing previously taught skills and using the materials needed to function in a community setting/job site. </li><li>Accompany students into the community to support community-based instruction. </li><li>Assist in the delivery of related services previously demonstrated by therapists and/or specialists that may include heavy lifting, transferring students to specialized equipment and/or entering a pool. </li><li>Participate in in-service workshops designed to improve competencies in working with students </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee. </li><li>Assist students to benefit from the educational program. Responsibilities may include: </li></ul> <p>a) Using behavior checklists</p> <p>b) Assisting students with instructional training</p> <p>c) Assisting students with formation of groups</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk to hear; and taste to smell.
