Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Environmental Programs Specialist oversees compliance activities, functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain documentation hard copy and electronic files of compliance activities such as investigation outcomes, report submissions, and correspondence with regulatory agencies. </li><li>File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies. </li><li>Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed. </li><li>Conduct regular internal Comprehensive Compliance Investigations in accordance with TCEQ guidelines, USEPA (RMP), Standard Operating Procedures, and SPCC plan. </li><li>Conduct internal investigations involving regulatory issues. </li><li>Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation. </li><li>Monitor all operations for compliance with RMP and SPCC rules and regulations. </li><li>Verify that all City and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented and communicated. </li><li>Report violations or deviations of compliance or regulatory standards to Plant Manager or designee. </li><li>Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities. </li><li>Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seeking clarification on issues or dilemmas or reporting irregularities. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of related experience </li><li>A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered </li><li>TCEQ Class C Wastewater License required within one (1) of hire </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - the City offers a 2 to 1 match.
