<p>JOB INFORMATION</p> <p>This is a part-time faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the year and reviewed based on department need. Any documents you provide that are not listed will not been seen by the Search Committee.</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li><li>Cover Letter </li></ul> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Actively participate in the development of student athletes both academically, athletically, and personally. </li><li>Encourage and promote the persistence, retention, completion, and transfer of student athletes. </li><li>Manages the program in accordance with established department, institutional, and conference guidelines, rules, and regulations with appropriate leadership. </li><li>Recruits college level student athletes in accordance with institutional and conference guidelines as well as determines appropriate financial awards through the Letter of Intent process. </li><li>Embraces various forms of technology to appropriately accomplish job functions in a timely manner, gather data for planning, as well as using for communication purposes where appropriate. </li><li>Supervises and directs both paid and volunteer assistants. </li><li>Participates and is involved in region meetings when required, department meetings, department fundraising, and community service activities. </li><li>Works with the athletic director to determine the next year's game and practice schedules. </li><li>Provides appropriate levels of program planning for both practice and games to prepare individuals for team competition as well as individual development. </li><li>Works with the athletic director and or other campus personnel regarding program issues. </li><li>Plans, suggests, and purchases necessary equipment, supplies, and gear for the program in conjunction with the athletic director. </li><li>Stays current with required certifications both institutionally and for the conference as it relates to the health and well-being of the student athletes. </li><li>Promotes their program, the department, institution, and conference in a positive manner to any group with which they come in contact internally or externally. </li><li>Create positive lines of communication, establish expected standards of behavior, promote a positive environment for learning and development, as well as encourage the importance of accountability and character. </li><li>Work with student athletes, the Advising, Retention and Compliance Coordinator and athletic director to make sure there is a clear understanding of eligibility requirements and status, the benefits of the academic support structure, and campus resources. </li><li>Available for all team activities as well as being able and qualified to transport student athletes to and from activities in campus vehicles. </li></ul> <p>Institutional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds </li><li>Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success </li><li>Embraces, understands and uses appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions </li><li>Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices </li></ul> <p>CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Your application will be scored based on the minimum qualifications, core competencies, and preferred qualifications. If you are unsure whether you meet all of the qualifications listed below, we encourage you to apply and address through your application materials all of the relevant education, transferable skills, and related experience that makes you a great candidate for this position.Please ensure you include all information on your application which you wish to be considered.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> <ul> <li>AND- </li></ul> <p>Four years of competitive coaching experience</p> <ul> <li>AND- </li></ul> <p>A valid Oregon Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.</p> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, organizational, and Interpersonal skills. </li><li>Management with regard to sports a program, practice, and game environment </li><li>Experience with physical, mental, and individual sport skill development. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as a team member in team environment </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in physical education or related field </li><li>Two years of head coaching or five or more years of assistant coaching experience at the post high school level </li><li>Knowledge of NWAC code </li><li>Athletic recruiting experience </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends </li><li>All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college. </li><li>Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire </li><li>Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment. </li><li>Recently hired faculty are expected to participate in a new faculty orientation program </li><li>Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. Only information relevant to the position will be considered. An individual with negative information on their background inquiry will not necessarily be denied employment. </li><li>Providing false information will result in rejection of an application, employment offer or dismissal </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Sedentary Work:Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
