<p>Overview</p> <p>GFT is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support a variety of projects in the West Region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Ontario office.</p> <p>Working on the Transportation team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Explore some of our signature Transportation projects here.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>What you'll be challenged to do:</p> <p>Our transportation specialists, located in offices across the nation, are unparalleled in the knowledge of the movement of freight and people, and unmatched in technical and managerial services. We provide full-scale professional services to both public and private sector transportation clients. Our Engineering Co-ops will work within our highway, structural, rail and construction divisions. This role with offer the ability to actively interact with our teams as we work develop plans, designs and construct for our clients in various disciplines including states and municipalities, freight railroad, passenger rail and transit, airports and air carriers, and federal government projects.</p> <p>This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Roadway Engineer Intern who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.</p> <p>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:</p> <ul> <li>Assist regional office in various tasks related to Civil Engineering including design, analysis, reports, and plan production. </li><li>Provide weekly status updates </li><li>Attend weekly project and/or team meetings </li><li>Will learn proficiency in computer-aided drafting and design software. (MicroStation and Geopak) </li><li>Works well independently and in team environment </li><li>Commitment to quality work and timely communication </li><li>Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>What you bring to our firm:</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. </li><li>Candidate must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior when starting the Summer 2025 Semester </li><li>Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. </li><li>Must be eager to learn, be flexible and be a team player. </li><li>Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions. </li><li>Ethics - Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically. </li><li>Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time. </li><li>Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments. </li><li>Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>The Salary range for this position is $20.00-$25.00/Hr.
