<p>Job Description:</p> <p>GLASTONBURY PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>Glastonbury, Connecticut</p> <p>NOTICE OF VACANCY</p> <p>POSITION:</p> <p>Paraeducator, Special Education</p> <p>Part-Time (Union Position)</p> <p>Naubuc Elementary School</p> <ul> <li>The location of your assignment is subject to change based on student needs in the district. </li></ul> <p>WAGES:</p> <p>$19.75 per hour</p> <p>SCHEDULE:</p> <p>10-month position, 18 hours per week</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <p>Responsible for the support of students receiving special education services in a variety of settings. Duties may include supporting students with academic work and attention to task; implementing behavior intervention plans; facilitating social interaction with peers.</p> <p>Assists students in self-care areas as needed, including but not limited to personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, dressing, mobility and lifting. Performs related duties as required or as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Ability to relate well to students with disabilities, to follow a schedule with flexibility to changes. Must be able to assist students in self-care areas which may include lifting. Good communication skills are required.
