<p>Compensation Range</p> <p>$36.39 - $47.31</p> <ul> <li>- </li></ul> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>The Facilities Electronics Technician is responsible for performing and supporting a variety of routine semi-skilled and skilled work related to electronics maintenance and equipment operation. This position supports electronic equipment to include surveillance cameras and recording equipment, DDN servers and switches, system cabling, backup power supplies, card access systems, intercom, motion sensors, fire and intrusion alarms. This position is dedicated to ensuring all system function appropriately daily, responds to afterhours, weekends, and holidays emergency call-outs.</p> <ul> <li>- </li></ul> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Electronic Equipment - 65%</p> <ul> <li>Perform daily communication checks and function for video surveillance equipment operation and storage. </li><li>Promptly alert Facilities Leadership for all equipment malfunctions. </li><li>Perform maintenance, i.e. repair/replace, and commissioning per manufacturers' specifications for electronic equipment to include, locks, cameras, alarm systems, audio and video equipment, etc. </li><li>Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to fire alarm control panels including replacing "downstream" devices and batteries. </li><li>Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair door access control systems and hardware. </li><li>Troubleshoot building intrusion systems and system components including alarm panels, radio and cellular dialers, and panic alarms. </li><li>Perform final low voltage wiring, controls wiring, control's final tie in's, and terminations. </li><li>Install electronic equipment to include mounting cameras, running cables/wire, connecting antennas, installing drop in boxes, etc. </li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot multiple electronic systems and initiate repairs. </li><li>Read and understand electronic and hydraulic schematics and carry out instructions as called for in blueprints, specifications, and sequence of operation instructions, product installation, engineering, and owner's manuals. </li><li>Use and interpret diagnostic and service equipment including the navigation of maintenance software programs. </li><li>Stay current on technical service bulletins and equipment updates. </li><li>Ensure that oral and written directives, policy, and ordinances of Weld County are consistently and uniformly applied and reflect actual practice and current operating needs. </li><li>Work effectively with Sheriff Office staff, Weld County staff, and contractors. </li><li>Facilitate effective time management and efficient use of overtime; document and log all data related to the completion of work orders in a timely manner; exercise sound, independent judgment in decision making. </li><li>Facilitate effective communication; investigate complaints; evaluate working conditions for safety improvements; investigate and report on-the-job injuries and damage of county property as necessary. </li><li>Prepare written reports, logs, and other documentation as required by assignment. </li><li>Maintain constructive working relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors, administrative staff in the Facilities Department, and other county departments. </li><li>Evaluate and recommend equipment upgrades for total system integrity, redundancy, and reliability. </li><li>Perform job assignments as directed by Facilities Leadership.. </li><li>Respond to afterhours emergencies to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. </li><li>Perform snow removal as part of the emergency response team. </li><li>Required to work in secure and non-secure detention facilities. </li></ul> <p>Documentation - 35%</p> <ul> <li>Perform a daily report indicating that electronic equipment is functional and operational. </li><li>Manage workflow using work order system. </li><li>Create cost estimate and schedules for equipment replacement. </li><li>Proactively plan for equipment replacement using life cycle analysis. </li><li>Work with technical service contractor to expeditiously identify and rectify system faults. </li><li>Track technology innovations and recommend upgrades. </li><li>- </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED </li></ul> <p>Experience Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5 years relevant work experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree Electronics or related degree. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and reports. </li><li>Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence. </li><li>Ability to effectively present and communicate information in one on one and small group situations to citizens and clients and other employees of the organization. </li><li>Ability to learn and follow safety precautions common to labor positions. </li><li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. </li><li>Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs. </li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straight forward written and/or oral instructions. </li><li>Ability to respond to and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations. </li><li>Ability to utilize reference skills to locate accurate information quickly with minimal resource. </li><li>Ability to function independently as well as in a team environment to complete all necessary duties. </li><li>Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to employment start date. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must pass physical and substance screening prior to and random substance screenings during employment. </li><li>Driving is essential in this position. </li><li>Candidate must have a valid Driver's License and Liability Insurance Upon Hire Required </li><li>Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation and if hired, will be subject to continuous monthly MVR monitoring and random drug screens throughout employment. Required </li><li>Pre-employment substance screening is required for this position. </li><li>This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening in accordance with Weld County policy. </li></ul> <p>This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.</p> <p>As an applicant for this position, you should be aware of Senate Bill 19-085, the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
