<p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>$39,819.00 - $42,607.50</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$20.42 - $21.85</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>General Government, Stormwater Management</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Stormwater Field Operations</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of motor equipment that does not require a commercial driver's license for the construction, repair and maintenance of municipal rights-of-way and drainage systems.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Drives and operates motor equipment such as side cutters, pickup trucks, rollers or any dump truck with a combined weight not exceeding 26,000lbs. </li><li>Completes work orders and daily worksheets. </li><li>Performs daily maintenance on equipment operated and maintains records of such maintenance. </li><li>Operates other heavy equipment such as backhoe or front-end loader when required. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1.5 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Valid state issued driver's license. </li><li>Must complete and pass city vehicle operation and safety training which includes air brakes within 60 days of hire. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with air brakes. </li></ul> <p>Other Necessary Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. </li><li>In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs. </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
