Community Connections Volunteer Coordinator VISTA

The Volunteer Coordinator will expand organizational capacity by implementing and evaluating a recruitment plan to market and secure volunteers for various sports, arts, and family support programs in our various cities around the state. This plan will include the research of potential sources for future volunteers, establishing and reviewing training for volunteers, and a retention assessment and plan for volunteers to further support low-income families and those impacted by poverty. The VISTA member will: 1) review the recently implemented volunteer database to track communication with individuals willing to serve in the various cities and specific programs. 2) review and update current training materials for volunteers and make necessary changes to improve the platform in preparation for 2025 programs. 3) research volunteer fairs and community events around the state where Community Connections could recruit new volunteers. 4) recruit and then train new volunteers to further build our capacity to serve kids with special needs as our organization continues to grow. 5) gather feedback from program directors and current volunteers to gauge what is effective and what needs additional attention in order to equip individuals to work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Coordinator will also work on volunteer appreciation and retention for future sustainability of our programs.
