<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Paraprofessional/IPSEP Paraprofessional</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/21/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>ALLEN EARLY LEARNING ACADEMY</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSITION: Special Education Paraprofessional</p> <p>Infant-Preschool Special Education Program</p> <p>LOCATION: Allen Early Learning Academy/IPSEP</p> <p>HOURS: 15 hours per week</p> <p>Monday - Thursday (and 1 Friday a month)</p> <p>8:00am - 11:45am</p> <p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>Paraprofessional will work with teachers, support staff and students as directed and necessary to maintain safety and to support student learning, self-care and overall achievement and progress.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Demonstrate ability to work with parents, students and support personnel. </li><li>Good communication skills. </li><li>Good attendance record. </li><li>Good organization skills. </li><li>Ability to be self-directed. </li><li>Ability to engage in problem identification and solving. </li><li>Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/parents/students. </li><li>Ability to be flexible when working with multiple special education professionals each day. </li><li>Previous experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in Early Childhood or elementary settings. </li><li>Experience working with children with a broad range of learning styles, behavioral needs, levels of independent self-care, etc., preferred. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Functions under the direct supervision of special education teachers and has contact with special education professionals to developing activities, routines, structures, etc., designed to support student achievement. </li><li>Performs those health care, instructional or other related assignments developed by a special education professional specific to student need, including toileting. </li><li>Assists the special education classroom teacher, special education support personnel in the implementation of health care, instructional programs and the management of student behavior. </li><li>Manages both behavioral and instructional logs as directed by the special education teacher. </li><li>Monitors established goals and objectives for students in the classroom. </li><li>Provides clinic/first aid/medication support to students. </li><li>Bending, lifting, and overhead work required. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned. </li></ul> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
