<p>Overview</p> <p>The Department of Buildings & General Services (BGS) is looking for a Buildings Project Manager to work in their Design & Construction Division, managing all phases of building construction projects of varying size and complexity including repairs, renovations, and new construction. The Buildings Project Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of assigned projects, including project inception; testifying before legislative committees; hiring and oversight of outside consultant engineers and architects; bidding projects; construction oversight; stakeholder communication; and coordination with building tenants.</p> <p>In addition to project management, this position will assist the Operations & Maintenance Division with smaller projects, which could include in-house design, and will assist the Design & Construction Program Chief with technical reviews, vendor evaluations, design guidelines, standard specifications, and procedures. The position may serve as the State's COTW on a day-to-day basis. When doing so shall be primarily stationed at the work site and shall be responsible for overseeing the General Contractor's work. The position will observe the progress and quality of work as is reasonably necessary throughout all stages of construction to determine that it is proceeding in accordance with the construction documents.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have experience associated with construction project management, capital improvement, maintenance, design, and/or construction oversight.
