The role requires translating client needs into actionable design concepts, conducting insightful in-home consultations, and fortifying sales teams with design expertise. Designers at La-Z-Boy Furniture are paid salary plus commission on written sales with NO COMMISSION CAP. On average, our Interior Designers earn over $45,000/year with top performers earning over $70k. We have the BEST customers in the world and are very selective about who we trust to care for them.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):</p> <ul> <li>Achieve or surpass store and individual sales goals, annual operating benchmarks, and personal objectives. </li><li>Promote the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program to draft potential design solutions, present customized portfolio presentations tailored to the client's requirements and preferences. </li><li>Translate the client's lifestyle, taste, and budget into actionable design recommendations. </li><li>Schedule and conduct in-home consultations to understand client's unique needs, preferences, and vision for their space. </li><li>Create design concepts and digital presentation with finish selections, furnishings, and fixtures. </li><li>Provide coaching, training, and support to sales teams to improve design culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, strategies, and overall in-home design performance. </li><li>Collaborate with support teams to ensure flawless execution of operational excellence. </li><li>Ensure proper execution of all existing and new systems and administrative procedures. </li></ul> <p>SCOPE & IMPACT:</p> <p>This position holds significant influence over the store's financial health, team morale and development, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience and reputation in the community. This position reports to the Store Manager of the assigned location with indirect influence of sales team.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Education: bachelor's degree; or equivalent experience. </li><li>Experience: 2-3 years in interior design, with a residential emphasis. </li><li>Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, computer-aided design programs, financial understanding, adept interpersonal communication, analytical abilities, goal orientation, team management, and customer service. </li><li>Other: Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li>Valid Driver's License </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Design Certification </li><li>Advanced interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit & experience in building effective relationships. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: none</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Ability to operate motor vehicle. </li><li>Ability to stand for long periods of time. </li><li>Nearly continuous use of repetitive hand motions, hearing and listening. </li><li>Often required to sit, walk, bend and stoop </li><li>Subject to inside environmental conditions </li><li>Ability to pass background and drug screen. </li></ul> <p>Competitive Earnings Potential: UNCAPPED commissions on WRITTEN Sales.</p> <p>Pay: training pay $20 per hour 3- weeks</p> <p>After training end: $26,000 per year, plus commissions, 3.5% on La-Z-Boy Design Sales, 2% on Store Sales.</p> <p>Average post pay: $45,000 - $70,000</p> <p>OTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the incumbent for this job.
