<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Nassau Community College invites applications for a full-time Vice President position in the Office of Finance and Administration. The Vice President is a strategic partner and expert area advisor to the President and leadership team, and is responsible for providing overall leadership, supervision, guidance, and direction, to assigned areas, as aligned to the College's Strategic Plan and Goals, using the highest of ethical standards. In addition, the Vice President works expeditiously and diligently on behalf of the institution while operating with a data-informed and equity-focused approach to enhance student access and enrollment in collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders; provides executive oversight for a broad range of financial and support operations, including but not limited to financial planning and budgeting, auditing, cash and investment management, accounts payable, procurement, and financial administration of research and grants; partner with the President, cabinet members, and other members of the College community to creatively generate resources, including building and leveraging external partnerships, creating operational efficiencies; ensures that budget planning spans multiple years and that there's adequate flexibility to adjust the budget each year based on emerging needs and changing circumstances; aims to build widespread fiscal knowledge and budget transparency, believing them essential to ensuring that unit leaders can align spending to mission; build trust that resources are aligned to the mission and connects their efforts to those of others within the institution; presents the budget in dynamic ways that foster a deeper understanding of the connection between planned expenditure and mission and strategy, including through trends over time, comparisons to peer institutions, and ratios related to student access and success; shares responsibility for student access, completion, and post-completion success by collaborating with academic and student services, as well as information technology services to ensure that the current fiscal, technological, and personnel resources and processes are fully aligned with student success goals and activities and make recommendations focused on ensuring future and/or additional fiscal, technological, and personnel resources and processes are fully aligned with equitably enhancing student access, completion, and post-completion success in a data-informed manner; supervises and directs staff, as assigned; maintains current knowledge of laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and pending legislation, relative to areas of responsibility; responsible for all reporting, external and internal, necessary for local, state and/or federal compliance in assigned area(s); exhibits fiscal responsibility and accountability in the management of all assigned budgets and necessary reporting; responsible for identifying and eliminating redundancies in assigned areas, as well as working collaboratively with other senior administrators to eliminate redundancies and ensure effective and efficient operation of the College; assists in institutional management, policy development, college advancement, and strategic planning, as needed; attends, in a confidential capacity, to personnel administration and disciplinary procedures, as needed; develop and maintain strong working relationships with all areas of the College; serves as a member of Cabinet and senior leadership team; serve on committees as appointed; meets with and brief the Board of Trustees and/or with individual trustees when required; provide the President, President's Cabinet, the Board of Trustees, and general and outside counsel with confidential information and advice in the performance of duties as a direct College representative during negotiations and contract administration with the collective bargaining representatives of College employees, pursuant to the Taylor Law of the State of New York, as needed; participates directly in labor negotiations when necessary; works effectively with ethnic, cultural, and socially diverse populations; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; other duties as assigned. Confidentiality a must.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, public administration or related discipline; ten (10) years of experience in administration, supervisory, and/or organizational leadership, and/or directing institutional initiatives or programs; experience in strategic planning and implementation; familiarity with the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the demographics of the current student body and staff of the College; knowledge of local community and service area; ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently; knowledge and skill in identifying problems, analyzing data, and making recommendations; high level of emotional intelligence and energy; excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; ability to develop collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administration, and internal and external constituencies; ability to manage and adapt to change, make difficult decisions, encourage conflict resolution, and assure employee and department accountability; strong management skills.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>In addition, the successful candidate preferably will have a Doctorate Degree in a related discipline; a Certified Public Accountant designation; experience working at a Community College; experience working in a unionized environment; experience with current management system(s) and programs used in higher education and/or the related area(s), including but not limited to Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft, Visio, and Adobe Professional, as well as being proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>If you qualify and wish to apply, please include the following:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Cover letter</p> </li><li> <p>Updated resume</p> </li><li> <p>A brief statement on how your experience and background can enhance Nassau Community College.</p> </li></ol> <p>Please note all three items are necessary for your submission to be reviewed.</p>
